Beliefs, values and goals provide the support for coaching, much like the 3 legs of a stool:
Coaching focuses on what you want – your goal – and how to achieve it
Coaching encourages you to know your values and live them in achieving your goals
Coaching challenges limiting beliefs and reinforces positive ones by giving tasks that provide feedback

One of the key tools of my coaching is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), which is the fusion of three areas:-
Neurology - The brain and how we think.
Linguistics - The use of language and how it affects us.
Programming – Sequencing and replication of positive actions to achieve our goals.

NLP succeeds in bringing rapid and sustainable changes and states of resource to help you excel where perhaps once you have been stuck or constrained in some way.

Athletes talk about being in the 'zone' when they win a race. Many top athletes are taught NLP techniques to help them achieve this.
